In late July 2019, a female elephant seal found its way into Sequim Bay and took up residence for a few weeks, feasting right outside of John Wayne Marina. I was lucky enough to get some pictures and video of her. Twice I watched her eat a Pacific spiny dogfish (a type of shark). Elephant seals are very rare inside the bay so it was a real treat to have this experience. Enjoy the video below.
